Le moulin de GastéThis kind of mill CAVIER, very specific, only exists in Anjou (and nowhere else) and so well defined: regions of Saumur, from Doue la Fontaine, du Layon and few near Angers and Indre et Loire.

During the high period of operation of these mills, some 180 Cavier campaign drew Anjou.

To date, less than twenty and still only less than 10 are in a position to operate.

Since its acquisition in 1997, and its inclusion on the supplementary list of historic monuments in 1999, our goal was to restore it as it operated during the nineteenth century.

This restaurant deep in the same and without additions or technical equipment of the twenty-first century, was conducted under the supervision of the architects of buildings in France, and by professionals (stonemasons and carpenters molinologue) since 2003: walls, roof, framing, hucherolle wings, internal mechanism, ....

As such, we have been able to receive aid from the State, the Conseil Général du Maine et Loire and the Conseil Régional des Pays de la Loire. Nous les en remercions vivement. We thank him very much.

Now, his haughty look and movement of the wings express bucolic beauty found in all the harmony arising from the marriage of tufa, the slate Trélazé and brightness of this beautiful region of Anjou!

Equipped with two pairs of wheels, it produces once again the whole-wheat flour (milling) since early 2008 to our great joy! and, taking a "run" progressive renovation of its gears.

Its high (17 m between the ground and the roof of the hucherolle), allows him to "take" the wind as necessary.

The ingenuity of its particular arrangement and its operation and allows the miller to ensure only a production, "driving" the good functioning of this very specific mechanical nineteenth century.
